How Much We Spent During Two Weeks in Morocco

Morocco was a country we both have dreamed of visiting for some time now, so in 2017 we made it a priority. Our wish was to see and experience as much possible in 2 weeks and to do that we needed a car. Public transport is not so bad between the cities, however, it wouldn’t allow us to make as many stops as we wished to do and it would have been quite time-consuming too.

Before I share the prices we paid, I would also like to point out we were spoiling ourselves almost on daily basis. Anyway, below you can find information on how much the whole trip cost us. Please note that I first write down the price we paid together and then calculate how much it was per person. Read More

5 Stories Behind My Favourite Photos Taken in 2017

Every year I try to go through all the photos I have taken. I never succeed at it since I take way too many shots, but it’s the intentions that count, right?

2017 has been a year of change. We are slowly changing our way of travelling, not intentionally, just doing what works best for us and learning from our mistakes. Our destinations are also starting to get a bit different. Both Madeira and Morocco were something special.

In this post I’m sharing 5 photos from 2017, that make me smile everytime. Each of them carries a story.

#1 Making new friends in Morocco

On day 2 of our trip to Merzouga desert, our host took us very close to the Algerian border. Travel Goals for 2018 (and Recap on 2017)

Last Tuesday I was sitting on my cosy bed after coming back from a long day at work when it hit me – I was not sure where we were going next! Over the next few days, I came up with a plan.

But let’s talk 2017 first, shall we? I can hardly believe how much has happened in the last 12 months! It’s true I have only accomplished half of what I was planning to (4 out of 7), but I still consider this year a big success! In February, we did a lovely weekend getaway to the Czech Republic. Short, but sweet! Until April, I was very busy with my studies. At the end of the month, we took off for Madeira Island – a place that has been on my list since forever! We even had two layovers in Lisbon and that was a dream come true too.

Austrian Winter Fairytale in Salzburg

After many long weeks of wearing warm sweaters, watching out the window with hopes of seeing the season’s first snowfall, playing Christmas music too loudly and binge-watching Christmas movies too far in advance, my favourite time of year has finally arrived.

Austrian Winter Fairytale in Salzburg | The Cheerful Wanderer

Although I had a last minute idea to escape to Salzburg for a weekend getaway in November already, things didn’t quite work out then. I am happy the trip had to be postponed since that meant I could not only wander through the city with two of my favourite persons but also see it dressed in a white. Read More

Experiencing an Authentic Afternoon Tea with a Local

If I asked you to name the most British thing you could think of, what would you say? My first association would be an afternoon tea – and what better way to experience it than with a local.
